Environmental movements are an increasingly important part of the global activist landscape as climate change has become one of the most urgent challenges of our time.
EED supports grassroots activist groups that are mobilising to prevent environmental damage in their communities. Rooted in local often rural communities, these movements are holding their governments to account on environmental issues, including those caused by corruption and misspending of public funds. Environmental activism is often the first step towards wider civil society activism work.
