The Association of Ukrainian Human Rights Monitors of Law Enforcement Bodies (UMDPL) is a leading human rights monitoring organisation that has carried out systemic all-Ukrainian monitoring of observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the activities of law enforcement agencies since 2010. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak, the coalition of organisations has launched a country-wide advocacy campaign, including advocating the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to develop appropriate regulations for police work during quarantine. EED funding aims to bolster their campaign efforts to reduce the number of violations by law enforcement bodies of the rights and freedoms of Ukrainian citizens during the pandemic and beyond.
