Combating Corruption in Palestine
- Name of organisation / initiative supported: Palestinian Academy for Integrity – Nazaha
- Start date: 1 June 2020
- End date: 1 June 2021
Initiative summary:
The Palestinian Academy for Integrity – Nazaha is a Ramallah-based group dedicated to fighting corruption. It was founded in 2017 by a group of academics in coordination with the main anti-corruption NGO in Palestine, Aman. While Aman works against corruption post facto and focuses on punitive action, Nazaha seeks to complement this work by improving preventative measures. These include promoting values of integrity in society, building and developing expertise in the country on good governance, and engaging students on anti-corruption work via cooperation with Palestinian universities. EED support will allow the group to sustain and expand its programming in these areas by creating a magazine examining corruption-related issues, broadcasting monthly radio episodes on the topic, and empowering interested youth to become involved.
