- End date: 31 March 2018
Initiative summary:
No independent print press currently exists in the Drohobych area and nearby villages with a total population of 200,000.
Independent journalists tend to publish their findings online but not all residents of the region are active Internet users and therefore do not have access to impartial information. In response to this, the initiative aims to publish independent newspaper, which would be used as a communication platform between civil society and the authorities. The newspaper ‘Media Drohobychinna’ will mainly focus on corruption investigation and on the discussion surrounding corruption prevention. Additionally, the initiative includes a series of trainings designed for journalists and activists, focusing on topics such as anti-corruption investigations, public procurement laws, as well as EU-Ukraine relations, and roundtables to discuss acute problems in the region.
