Initiative summary:

Due to low media literacy, increased domestic and international propaganda and the demise of opposition media, blogs and vlogs are increasingly important platforms for providing alternative information in Moldova, especially to young people.

Ilie Plamadeala is a top vlogger in the Moldovan online environment: he leads and produces “The Duck Show” – a satirical online one-man-show aimed at increasing young people’s awareness and critical thinking on political developments and social topics, such as corruption, gender equality, LGBTQI, education, public policies, justice and quality of governance. The drastic demise of the television station that provided the vlogger with equipment and a studio threatened the continuation of the Duck Show. EED support will allow the blogger to continue producing his show and reinforcing society’s views on democracy.
