"Region" Research Center

  • Name of organisation / initiative supported: "Region" Research Center
  • Start date: 1 October 2018
  • End date: 30 September 2018

Initiative summary:

As the first elections following Armenia’s decision to become a parliamentary republic, the upcoming (April 2017) parliamentary elections are highly significant.

However, the political culture in Armenia is characterised by weak communication of the different parties about their agendas. With an aim of improving transparency, “Region” Research Center will monitor and analyse the content of seven online media outlets as well as the use of social media as a platform by political parties, in the lead up to the elections. The findings will be disseminated amongst media outlets, political figures and parties, media specialists as well as other interested parties. Separate meetings will be organised with political parties to discuss how the parties can improve communication in the future.
